Fire Risk Assessment

Life Safety Fire Risk Assessments:

IG Assessors consist of MIFireE and FIFireE senior grades of the Institution of Fire Engineers, including those on multiple third party Fire Risk Assessor Registers. Our Assessors are usually former Senior Fire Safety Enforcement Officers from Metropolitan Fire Services, HSE Inspectors or Ministry of Defence Fire Safety Officers. Should immediate life safety issues be found, IG can not only advise, but also address these, if instructed by the client.

Compartmentation and Fire Door Surveys:

If the Fire Risk Assessor has concerns that the building may not maintain the integrity of it’s escape routes, or suspects that deterioration, badly carried out alterations etc may lead to fire spread faster and more dangerously than that which the building was designed for, he/she may recommend a full compartmentation or fire door survey.

These survey and report all damage and issues with fire separating compartmentation within the building, fire door inspection likewise. They also indicate the replacement or remediation that is required, including specific products is necessary, to restore the fire resistance of these vital components of the building’s structure.

These are tasks where access is required to awkward areas, often by ladders, mini scaffolding, or even powered access plant. IG submit full Risk Assessments and Method Statements to the client prior to carrying these out.
